Nicola Robinson, from Sunderland, a team manager at EDF Energy’s Doxford International Business Park customer service centre, organised a special collection of school uniforms from her colleagues on behalf of Wearside Women in Need. She collected hundreds of items including blazers, shirts and trousers (also main image), which were passed on to the charity in time for the new school term starting in September. POLPO & Rays of SunshineDuring August, Venetian restaurant POLPO, donated 100% of the proceeds from every £6.50 kids menu dish sold in its London restaurants to children’s charity, Rays of Sunshine, raising a total of £987. A new relationship between the two, it will see POLPO work closely with Rays of Sunshine to grant magical wishes by raising funds throughout the year with special menu promotions. In June, the restaurant also took part in Rays of Sunshine’s summer campaign, Ray for a Day, where they donated £1 every dish sold on their special menu across all their London restaurants. Jurys Inn & Capability ScotlandJurys Inn has announced that it has joined forces with Capability Scotland as its corporate charity partner for the next two years. During the course of the partnership, the hotel group will hold fundraising events at all of its hotels to engage and inspire its employees and customers to raise funds for the charity and awareness in the community.
