Interims vital to smoothing way for corporate changeOn 12 Jun 2001 in Personnel Today HR interims are becoming increasingly important to firms in setting up anddriving change programmes, according to joint research launched last week. The survey, carried out by Personnel Today, TMP Worldwide and Salary Survey Publications,shows that 78 per cent of firms currently use HR interims with internationalexperience to integrate systems and staffing structures across variouscountries. Over 60 per cent of the 1,000 companies surveyed use them on specialistrecruitment projects. Steve French, head of HR recruitment practice at TMP Worldwide, said,”A lot of organisations are recognising the value of interims andrealising that you can turn them on and off like a tap on discreet projects.They provide great flexibility.” The findings on interims were part of a broader survey, which revealed thatsalaries for HR directors are rising steeply. Guestspeaker at the launch, Nicola Horlick, joint managing director of SG AssetManagement, told delegates that talent management was a key issue in the Cityand attacked the long hours culture.
