We have informed everyone including the DHTA, DAIC, the Unions and other private sector firms. We have informed the Permanent Secretaries and we have asked the Pal reps to have constituency meetings to put them in gear for the four days of activities and we have also alerted the village councils…” he said.Meantime Public Education Officer of the Dominica Solid Waste Management Cooperation Jenno Jacob is advising the public on some of the items they need to be mindful of when collecting garbage for disposal during the cleanup activity.“White goods such as refrigerators can cause blockage. Also galvanize and other items must be placed in the landfill where they can be more secure, the landfill will be opened from 91m to 6pm to accommodate that,” he said.The Acting General Manager of the Corporation Bristol John Lawrence says his department is ready to deal with any amount of garbage that will be disposed of or collected over the next few days.Meanwhile Acting Disaster Preparedness Coordinator Don Coriette is urging the public to get fully involved in the cleanup activities as they could be saving the country, revenue and loss of life and property.The chairperson of the Public Relations Subcommittee Cheryl Etienne-Leblanc is also advising persons to take time off this weekend to purchase some of the basic items they would need in the event a disaster strikes.Dominica Vibes News Share 31 Views no discussions Share Share Sharing is caring!
